Privacy Policy
Effective November 6, 2026
Kindred Vision helps adults find people to talk to and decide for themselves whom to contact. This policy explains what we collect, why, who can see it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. In it, “we” and “us” mean Quality of nondestructive testing LLC, which operates Kindred Vision, the service at kindredvision.com.
Who can use Kindred Vision
Kindred Vision is for people 18 and older. We ask for your date of birth when you join and do not let anyone younger finish joining. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it.
What we collect
We collect what you give us, what the service records as you use it, and a few technical details your browser sends.
- Your account. Your email address or phone number; your password, which we store only as a one-way hash; your date of birth; and a record of when you accepted the community rules and this policy. For staff two-factor authentication, we also store your authenticator secret in encrypted form and recovery codes as one-way hashes.
- Your profile. Your nickname, photo, interests, profession, languages, region and city, and your gender if you choose to give it.
- The test. Your answers to the test and the result made from them.
- What you do here. The people suggested to you; the requests you send and receive; your conversations and the photos, videos, voice notes and other files you send in them; the groups and topics you join and what you write there; the feedback you leave after a conversation; and the reports and blocks you make.
- Your settings. Who can see each part of your profile and your test result, your filters for suggestions, your notification choices, quiet hours and time zone, read receipts, and whether others can see that you are online.
- Checks against spam. To spot spam, the service compares a message you send with your own recent ones and counts how often, how fast and to how many people you write. What it keeps from this is counts, with none of your words. It is never used to suggest people and never shown to other members.
- Technical details. Your IP address and the type of browser you use reach our servers with each request. We use the IP address to limit repeated requests, to suggest your region when you join, to check whether the service is available from your network, and to protect the service. We do not store it with your account, and our server logs keep it only for a short time.
- What you send us. Emails you write to us, the reasons you may give when you sign out, and copyright notices and counter-notices, which include the contact details the law requires.
How we use it
- To run your account and show your profile to the people your settings allow.
- To suggest people to talk to, from your region, languages, interests and test answers, your filters, and the people you have blocked. Suggestions are made automatically and never come with a score or a percentage. You decide whom to contact.
- To deliver your conversations and the notifications you turn on, by email and push. Unless you choose otherwise, a notification does not show what a message says.
- To handle reports and keep the community within its rules. Our moderators review reported conversations, comments and profiles, and the photos people add, and they can warn an account, limit what it can do, or suspend it.
- When automated moderation is enabled, automated checks can accept or reject a revision of feedback and raise the priority of a report. Human moderators decide reports, account restrictions and appeals. You can request human review of your feedback, including while it is waiting for a decision.
- To prevent spam, automated sign-ups and other abuse, and to keep the service and your account secure.
- To meet our legal obligations, such as handling copyright notices.
- To understand how the service is used, from counts and totals rather than by following individuals.
We do not sell your personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or show ads. We do not use your conversations to train artificial intelligence.
How long we keep it
We keep information only while it serves the purposes above. When you close your account:
- It is hidden from everyone at once, and you are signed out everywhere.
- For 30 days, you can bring it back by joining again with the same email address.
- After 30 days, we erase your profile, photo, email address or phone number, password, date of birth, test answers and result, settings, notifications, suggestions, requests that did not become a conversation, feedback you left or received, and blocks.
- Your messages stay in the conversations you had, shown as from a deleted account, so the other person keeps their conversation; a conversation is deleted once both people’s accounts are erased. Your comments in group topics remain in the topics where you wrote them, shown as from a deleted account.
Other records have their own terms:
- Reports. When you report something, we keep a copy of what you reported and the messages or comments just before it, so a moderator can see what happened even if it is deleted later. We delete that copy one year after the report is closed. The record of a report, and of any measure it led to, stays while the account it is about exists and for one year after that account is erased.
- Feedback moderation. We keep feedback revisions, moderation decisions, appeals and private staff follow-up records with the feedback so a decision can be reviewed. They are deleted when that feedback is erased, including when its author’s or recipient’s account is erased.
- Automated-check records. Automated-check records contain technical references, input fingerprints, outcome codes and limited structured results. They do not contain another copy of the submitted text. We keep these records with the feedback or report they concern. Report snapshots and report records follow the separate report-retention terms above.
- Separate provider retention. When these checks are enabled, we ask OpenAI not to store responses for later retrieval. That request does not eliminate separate provider retention for abuse monitoring. Our deletion of a local record does not erase any data the provider retains under its own terms.
- Photos and files. We remove location and camera details from the photos and files you upload. The original of a file sent in a conversation is deleted once it is processed, and a file you never send is deleted after a day.
- What you agreed to. The record of what you accepted, and when, is kept for good, as proof of what you agreed to; once your account is erased, it no longer carries your name or contact details.
- Copyright notices and counter-notices. Three years from when we receive them.
- Records of our team’s actions. Kept for good: this log cannot be changed, and it holds none of your messages.
- Spam checks. 60 days.
- Sign-up codes and password-reset links. Deleted within seven days after they are used or expire. Expired staff authentication requests and enrollment grants are kept for seven days, then deleted by the next routine cleanup. Staff authenticator secrets and recovery-code hashes are kept until they are replaced, reset by the operator, or erased with the account.
- Push. A browser’s push address is deleted when you sign out in that browser, or after 60 days in which you have not opened Kindred Vision there.
- Server logs. Deleted after five weeks at most.
- Backups. Our nightly backups are kept for 10 days, so erased information can remain in them until then.
Your choices and rights
- Choose who sees each part of your profile on Field privacy, which notifications you get on Notification settings, and whether others see read receipts and when you are online in Settings.
- Change your profile at any time, and close your account in Settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it, by writing to privacy@kindredvision.com from the email address of your account. We answer without undue delay and within one month. If your request is complex or you make a number of requests, we may need up to two more months. We will tell you within the first month if we need that extension and explain why.
- U.S. state privacy laws may give you these rights and the right to appeal our answer. We give them to every member, wherever they live. If we turn down a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer. If you live in the United States and disagree with the outcome, you can contact your state’s attorney general.
- You can ask someone else to make a request for you; we confirm with you before we answer them.
- We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.
- We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as that opt-out.
- Some of what we hold counts as sensitive under state privacy laws: the content of your messages, your password, and what your gender and your choice of whom to see may reveal. We use it only to provide the service you ask for. We ask for your explicit consent before using the gender filter. You can withdraw that consent in Settings; this clears the filter without deleting your own gender from your profile.
If you live in the EU, the EEA or the UK
Your data controller. Quality of nondestructive testing LLC, 3366 N 425 E, North Ogden, UT 84414, is responsible for your personal information. Contact us at privacy@kindredvision.com.
- To perform our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)). We run your account, show your profile as its privacy settings allow, suggest people to talk to, provide conversations, and deliver the service notifications you turn on.
- Our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)). We use spam and abuse checks, security measures and server logs, handle reports and moderation and copyright notices, and use counts to improve the service. Our interests are in keeping the service working and protecting it and its members from abuse.
- Your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). We use your consent for optional push notifications and news email.
- Your explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a) and Article 9(2)(a)). Your gender together with the gender filter may reveal sensitive information about you. We ask for explicit consent before using that filter, both to suggest people to you and to decide whom you can appear to. You can use the service without a gender filter.
- A legal obligation under EU or UK law (Article 6(1)(c)). We disclose information when that law requires us to do so.
Suggestions are part of the service we provide under our contract with you. The sign-up box records your agreement to processing for that service; it is separate from the optional explicit consent for the gender filter.
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, restrict its processing, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and receive a portable copy (data portability). These rights have conditions and exceptions under the law. Use Export my data in Settings to download your copy in JSON, a machine-readable format, or write to privacy@kindredvision.com about any of these rights, including when you cannot sign in.
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Use Settings to withdraw consent to the gender filter, and Notification settings for push notifications and news email. You can also write to privacy@kindredvision.com. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before you withdraw.
You can complain to a data protection authority in the EU or EEA country where you live or work, or where you believe an infringement happened. In the UK, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
You provide your information directly to us in the United States. Our hosting company in the United States processes information for us. We are confirming the hosting provider’s contractual arrangements and international-transfer safeguards. Contact privacy@kindredvision.com for details about the provider and those safeguards.
Suggestions are automated: they use the profile, test result, filters and privacy choices described in this policy. They do not make a decision about you with a legal or similarly significant effect; you decide whom to contact. Automated moderation has the limited role described above. Human moderators decide account restrictions and appeals.
How we protect it
Connections to Kindred Vision are encrypted, passwords are stored only as one-way hashes, and our team’s access depends on their role, with every opening of sensitive material recorded. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.
Where your information is stored
Our servers are in the United States. See If you live in the EU, the EEA or the UK for more about how we process your information.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we change the date at the top, and the next time you use Kindred Vision we ask you to accept the new version before you go on.
